Movie Review (Assignment of Listening 1)

I watched this movie several years ago. This movie is exciting and fascinating. It is a kind of comedy action movie. The main character is a best Chinese actor. He always shows his best perform in every character he role. If you are in a bad atmosphere, I suggest you to watch this one. Here I make the review of that movie. Hope you enjoy it guys.

Synopsis:

This is an interesting movie with Jacky Chan as the main character. This movie tells about a life of a spy, a CIA’s secret agent named Bob Ho. As usual he does his life as the spy. He helps his team to solve a secret problem and save the people life. He has many spy equipment and many friend as secret agent too, he really enjoy his job. But he is also in a serious relationship with woman named Gillian that does not know what his occupation is exactly. He loves Gillian and hopes marry her one day. So that he plan to get his pension soon and try to focus to the Gilian’s family, a son named Ian; a daughter, Nora; and a step daughter, Farren.

One day, Bob get a special job from Gillian to takes care of her children for a while when she is going somewhere. It is a good chance for him to make himself close to Gillian’s children. The problem is not over. When he is doing this special job, one of his prisoners escapes and looks for an important secret document. It is in Bob’s house but accidently Ian takes it with him. It make him and his family will get some dangerous. That is the problem. The spy have to solve this problem, save Gilian’s family and try for getting close to gillian’s children, and he also has to keep his secret as the spy.

Luckily he did it almost perfect. He solve the problem and save Gilian’s family. Unfortunately Gilian knows that Bob is a spy. Gilian hates it, but the children love it and begin to love him. Gilian decided to separate from him, but the children do not agree. The sacrifice of the spy and his affection have made the children love him very much, and decide to accept him.

Moral Value :
This movie has some moral values; the first is telling us about the way to face our own problem in life. Bob hide his problem and the fact about his job to Gilian. Then, it becomes a big problem to their relationship. Here we can conclude that everybody will get some problem in their life. If we do not try to solve it, the small problem can be a big one. So try to face the problem and solve it as soon as you can to avoid a simple one become complicated.

Another lesson is that Gilian can’t accept the fact that Bob is working as a spy and it makes her decide to break their relationship. It’s better for us not to judge someone based on his/her job, and even leave a valuable thing just because we don’t know about it clearly. Every job has a positive side, open your mind so you will understand that everybody has own reason to do it.

Here, Gilian’s children doesn’t like Bob, they always disturb the relationship between their mother and Bob. However Bob always do his best to close to them. With affection and sacrifice, he can get close to them. Here we can conclude that affection is a source of energy that can change something bad becomes good, change your enemy becomes your friends, and it can unite something separate. So do everything with your affection, it will be simpler and you can get something that you never expect can be reached before.

How to Reduce the Unemployment (IC task from Ms. Lina)

Unemployment is one of big problem in our country. It is not easy to solve it, but actually there are many ways to reduce it. The most important is we need the cooperation between the government and the society.

Firstly we must realize that in our country there are too many people that get their degree from a famous university. Unfortunately, not all of them get the job easily. Some of them are not qualified enough. They have no qualification to face the job competition. They usually refuse and can not get the job that they want. Therefore we must improve the education system, in order the schools and universities can graduate not only a good graduator but also the competent one.

Second, the government should create more job vacancy. As we know most of people depend on the job that is provided by the government. It will be very helpful if the government can provides the job for them.

 Third, everybody have their own skill. It is the task of the government to appear their skill. Such as do the training programs, so that they able to improve their skill and use it to create a new job vacancy. It will help not only their selves but also other people.

Fourth, nowadays there are many vocational high schools. It’s one of best solution for the young generation. It is suggested for them to choose the vocational school as the next level of their education. Vocational school helps to prepare the skilled-student as its graduator.

The fifth one is just allow the natives to work as the worker, not the foreign people. Recruit the people from our own country is will be very helpful to decrease the unemployed rate. And it is quiet important for the government to make a rule to employ only the Indonesian, not the foreign.

And the last one is decrease the birth rate. Our country has a big population. There is no balance between the birth rate and the death rate. It causes a big problem toward to the unemployment. We need the government to work and handle this case. One of the examples is ask the people to do the planning family program. So that there is a balance and can help to reduce the unemployment.

That’s all according to us for reducing the unemployment. We know that unemployment is a bad social problem in our country. So let’s start solve it as soon as possible.

God and The  Barber

            Based on that story, my conclusion is, there are so many people that forget their God. They do not know that they have God who always protects and watches them. People just remember the God when they are in trouble. That’s too bad! Everybody must know their God well and give their  dedication for the God. Because God is our creator and He always watches us everytime and everywhere.

Seeds

I have heard so many mottos or wise words in my life, such as: “Life is struggle”, “ Life is hard”, “Life is a choice”, etc. I only hear them but never practice them. After I heard an inspiration story of two seeds, I want to make a change in my life. I want to be like the first seed. It grows up and sees the world. It tries to do something eventhough it never know what will happen in the future. Therefore, in my first year in this college, I want to be one of the best. I want to be a confident girl, not a shy one. I want to make sure my self to stand in front of the class. I must get “A” score to make my self and the people proud of me.

A Broken Tempayan

A broken tempayan gives me some inspiration that nobody’s perfect. In this world, everybody have their own weaknesses. But, just believe that God always love his creatures. He gives the weakness for the creatures, in order they can change it become a strength. If they can do that, they even can be better than others. Finally, I think God gives me a healthy body and nice brain, so why I do not try to develop them well and make them useful for my self and everybody around me.

ABOUT ME (This task is from Ms. Lina in IC class)

I am a person who enjoys being with other people. It is not difficult for me to get a new friend, because I am a sociable person. Do not angry easily is my principle. I usually face the problems with the smile. I just think that anger is useless. That’s why the people said that I am an easygoing person.

Sometimes my bad characteristic will be appeared. I can’t deny that I am a moody person. My mood is unpredictable. However the good mood dominate my mood, but in certain time I will be unpleasant person. Now, I am a cheerful girl with smiling face. But one hour later, I’ll be calm. Even it is more terrible when my friend gives me a joke but I don’t respond it.

Therefore, I think I need a supportive friend who is encouraging. So that he or she know my mood well and understand the way to face me. I hope someday he or she will help me to change my bad character.

My Possible future (This task is from Ms. Lina in IC class)

About four years later, after I finish my study in this university. I want to continue my study in abroad. I want to be one of the best graduator and get scholarship for my magisterial. I’d like to choose Australia as a country to get my magisterial. And at the time, I want to learn more about photography as my hobby.

           Next after I get my magisterial, I’d like to back to Indonesia and going to get a job as a lecturer or entrepreneur. When I think that I have enough money, I’ll buy an own house. At my 25^th  years old, I plan to get married and hope to get four children.

           Someday, I plan to try to live in turkey as an interesting country for me. I want to learn about the language and culture. The last one, I’d love to go to Mecca with my family.

Traffic Problems (This task is from Ms. Lina in IC class)

Commonly in a big city, there is much problem.  The first one is traffic jam. It becomes serious problem almost in every big city, especially during the rush hours.  There is too much traffic and the cars crowded along the road. The driver and the rider have to stay in their vehicles during that time. That’s waste a lot time. Therefore to reduce it, there should be fewer vehicles in the road. The people can go to their work by public transportation. Changing the school time is also one of the solutions. Next, using the bicycle as the alternative transportation will be very helping.

The next problem is air pollution. The air in the world isn’t clean enough for the human. It is caused by the pollutant the smog of vehicle and industrial project. Actually the pollution is very dangerous problem. Because it causes a lot of illness and damage the ozone layer.  To reduce the pollution, we can begin by reducing the vehicles and its smog and keeping the green.

A letter to an old friend (This task is from Ms. Lina in IC class)

Padang, 13th of October 2010

Dear Sri

How are things going? We haven’t seen for a long time. Maybe about four years, right? You left Pariaman after the farewell party of our junior high school. Then we had no communication each other until I sent you this letter.

By the way, still you remember about our ambition in our last year at SMP? Yeah right, at the time we wanted to be a student of SMA 1, the favorite one in our city. And do you know what? I got it! I enjoyed my day as a student of that SMA. Guess what? In my second year, I joined an English club there. It’s great! It made me become more confident to follow some English competition, that’s sound nice, isn’t it?

Now I’m a student of UNP. I do love my class. I’ve been there for two months. I have many new friends, and they’re very friendly. I meet the lecturers everyday, and they’re great. I think I really love my new days.
